August Snapshots

August
2013

Writing to Brooklyn's pen pal, all the way in Australia.

Bedtime stories with daddy.

Brooklyn and mommy breakfast date.

Building trains with Nana.

Brooklyn reading books to McKenna while I am getting my teeth cleaned.

B can write her entire alphabet :)

McKenna and mommy day/ Birthday party

computers at the library.

Two sleepy girls.

Papas Farm

Kevin wanted a gun for hunting for a while now but was not sure what he wanted, so when my papa told him to come out and try some (to see what felt best for him) he jumped at the opportunity.  The girls LOVE the farm so we decided to make it a family weekend.

Papa has 60+ acres so four wheeling is a must ;)

Fun with the guns while Kenna naps and Brooklyn plays inside with grandma Stella.

No surprise that Brooke spent most of her time playing with all the animals, petting and feeding donkeys, horses, cows, and even winning over the "grumpy old man" (mini donkey)

Papa teaching Brooklyn

And more Gun fun...

The kickback was stronger than I expected! Men, they make it look so easy.

Taking a break from the guns for horse riding. Miss sunny was a great sport even when B wanted mama to ride with her.

Oh Yeah more gun fun!

Don't ask me to name this gun, but I liked it best! almost no kickback :) to bad you can't use it to hunt and the scope on it was a night vision so I couldn't used it at all.

In the end I think Kevin picked one gun that he liked the most, now we need to buy one and wait for hunting season! I really enjoyed hanging out with my grandma and seeing the girls get to run around and explore. (I really wish I had remembered to take more non-gun related pictures) Lucky we are planning another trip soon.

Cara Box Reveal

This was my first month participating in the Cara box exchange. (I will be doing it again in September, I loved it!) The Cara box was created for bloggers to meet and gain support from other bloggers. How it works is that at the beginning of the month you are paired up with two other bloggers a "receiver" and a "giver" once you have taken the time to get to know them you send them a small gift or "box"

Being a newcomer I was paired up with two other first timers Emily from The Newfangled Housewife and Sarah from Life, Love & Dinner. Figuring everything out with these ladies was such a easy and relaxing experience! They are both super sweet.

When it came to the box, I didn't know what to expect. I know how hard it can be to find things for me. So when I um the girls opened the box I was so surprised to see that Somehow Emily had figured out what would be most important to me!
This is not even all of what she sent! Her box also included a set of necklaces that I couldn't get my hands on to take a picture of even if i dared. ;) and two more crowns.

Speaking of those crowns, have they one has already made a trip to target. Brooke wanted to go shopping with "princess mommy" (somebody tell me why "princess" Brooklyn got to stay in the car and normal Brooklyn came inside) -sorry no pictures of that one "paparazzi" daddy was not around :)

Kenna girl loves these necklaces all day long, they go on, then come off and no one else can have them!
She says; Neck-es mine? anytime she can't find them, and trust me these girls have other necklaces, she loves these!

Wow that was long winded! and I still didn't cover everything! Thank you for such a thoughtful box Emily.

walkin the pups

We try and walk in the mornings and evenings usually I can get away with putting McKenna in a stroller and Brooklyn walking with me. (we keep a much faster pace that way)

Lately though McKenna wants to do EVERYTHING sissy does including walking the dogs. So on our evening walk I let her, it is hilarious to watch such a little girl walking a big dog!

First I tried holding the leash for her, and having her "help" sissy. But McKenna is strong willed so that didn't last long.

It took Gunner a while to realize that someone was holing his leash so he would walk to fast.

After a few tried McKenna won!
Now he walks like a champ for her on our walks.

Summer Fun 2013

With our summer coming to an end, I just wanted to reminisce about some of the things that the girls enjoyed doing during throughout the hot summer days!

Sprinklers after church!

Possibly McKenna's favorite outdoor toy, the water table.

Our morning routine of walking to the park before it got to hot.
