July Snapshots 2013

We have been so busy the last two months, I hadn't noticed how much I had been slacking on taking pictures! The girls are getting so big some nights its hard to remember how tiny they were. I love my Babies.

Swinging with her favorite doll "dah dah" and her all time favorite toy "smelly puppy"
(Brooklyn named him and McKenna just accepted that as his name.)

Brooklyn is ecstatic to see Christmas decor on display. First thing she said was, "Mom! we need to
find a deer for the tree.

On this particular day the boys and girls and I trip to the park, next to their house. Luckily there were just enough swings! I have to say I love this park, it has a cute little pond on the other side, I see many more trips in our future.

Baby girl loves her hats and necklaces.

Happy Birthday Liam!

Spending the day with shopping mom.

A diaper cake I made for a friends shower.

Snacks!

Pinterest Project #2

DIY Growth Chart Ruler

Supplies needed:
8x6 Board
Stain
ruler
Paint pin
Metal streat numbers (optional)

First we stained the board and let it dry twice, Then kevin measured off every inch for me. Later I filled out the lined with paint pen making the "quarter lines" 3 inches and the "eighth lines" 2 inches. Once the board was sealed and dried I placed the numbers at each foot mark. This is the fourth ruler we have made. (the first with the metal numbers) In the future I think I might replace the metal numbers with some stenciled or painted on ones, I am just not sold on the way it looks with metal numbers.

Bubbles!

I really wanted/needed some pictures for the guest bathroom. So after seeing some cute ideas on Pinterest, with some help from Nana, we got some pictures of the girls in the bubbles!

I am no photographer but I am happy with the pictures we got. Can not wait to frame them and get them up.

Family Vacation 2013 (Days 2 and 3)

After a nap and lunch we walked down to the lake. They had a few paddle boats to rent. Brooklyn was scared at first.
She thought the boat was going to sink (for some reason the paddle boat had a hole in the bottom) when Kevin stepped in the boat filled up with water, after he sat down the boat leveled out and the water emptied.

McKenna was pretty grumpy because of the life jacket she had to wear. She refused to look at the camera or talk to anyone until that life jacket was off!

A bit happier.
(don't worry we only took her life jacket off once we were back at the dock)

Swimming in the lake.
This was a HUGE milestone for Brooklyn!! All summer we have been working on her fear of water. Finally we were able to get her into something bigger than the kiddie pool. She was so happy swimming around and I and extremely proud of her!!!

While we were swimming it started to sprinkle, so we headed back to our tent before the rain got too bad.

The rain!!

It continued to rain all afternoon and into the night so we just entertained ourselves in the tent.
With a little ingenuity we were able to make smores. The chocolate was melted just enough for it to work!

The next morning we slept in, the rain cooled it off and made sleeping much easier, then packed up before it got too hot.

Since we still had a few hours until nap time (Kevin and I always try to do our driving while the girls are sleeping) we took the girls to the park and after had a picnic lunch outside.

Kenna was cracking everyone up! She would take the hat off say "cheese" then cover her face really fast!

Finally two smiling faces! I love these girls so much!
