Carving Pumpkins

This year was McKenna's first year to carve pumpkins, I wasn't sure what she would think about it because brooklyn doesn't really like it. Brooke finds it too messy and gross -such a girl!
McKenna LOVED it she dove right in pulling out the "pumpkin guts" and she was even gutsy enough to taste some going back for seconds and thirds! YUCK!

I cleaned out Brooklyns pumpkin for her and she sat calmly for 30 minutes putting "hair" on her pumpkin! She was so particular about which hair when were carefully picking out each color and placing them in the right hole. When I asked if she needed any help she replied "mommy you don't know how to do it right, your so silly"

The girls carving pumpkins together near each other. It was hilarious to watch just how disgusted brooklyn was that McKenna was eating the pumpkin! Brooke would yell "mommy she is doing it again... make her stop!" and I would take the pumpkin away from McKenna then Kenna would look at me and do her little fake cry for a second, remember that there was more pumpkin to be eaten, and the whole process would start over!

Arboretum fun!

On Monday the girls and I met up With our MOPS friends at the Dallas Arboretum for a fall event that they had going on. Brooklyn loves the arboretum and given that they had it decorated for fall with hundreds of pumpkins of every shape and size, well lets just say she was more than ready to start running around to see EVERYTHING! This mama had a hard time keeping up let alone taking pictures.

Way to busy looking at other stuff/ kids to take pictures.

Brooklyn posing with one of her friends Ella

Along with the pumpkin displays they had other booths set up such as; face painting, crafts, and a hay maze.

pumpkin patch #2

It may have taken me three years but I finally found the perfect pumpkin patch for our yearly family tradition! I heard about the yesterland farms though my friend Lyndsey and it was PERFECT!!

At first Brooklyn was a little timid when it came to the rides but once she slid down the GIGANTIC slide she was all for riding everything!! She will defiantly be taking after her father in the dear devil roller coaster loving department :)

I have to say more than a few times my heart dropped to my stomach, watching my baby on these big kid rides!!

Helping dad in the pumpin' shooting contest, they actually did REALLY well, i'm very proud of my team ;)

Pumpkin Painting

Today was just a really slow day and I was getting bored so I started racking my brain for ideas on something to do, Brooke is always asking me to paint, all I needed was something to paint! Pumpkin?!? PERFECT!

So I striped McKenna down and we headed outside to get messy :)

Making sure the whole pumpkin is nice and painted!

Brooklyn caught red-handed ;)

Forget the pumpkin its time to paint the baby!

Fire Station Open House

Saturday Brooklyn and I met with some friends up at a fire station in rockwall, for an event that they were having. Brooklyn loves everything having to do with firemen and fire trucks, so I knew that she would have fun, but when we arrived they had several bounce houses and face painting stations set up, Brooklyn hardly knew where to run first!

Fireman Ben checking out the trucks! Ben LOVES everything fire, (he actually started brookes mini obsession)
I would bet money that one day Mr. Ben will be a real fireman :)

Presley, Brooke, and Ben getting tattoos

Probably my favorite part of the day were the demonstrations. First up was a fire extinguisher demonstration (I now know that I need one for the house). My favorite demonstration was when they used the jaws of life and took off all the doors and roof of a car! Brooklyn was very concerned that their daddy would be very mad at them for that HA!
