Birthday Party

Brooklyn had her 3rd birthday party on Sunday. The weather was so good that the kids spent most of her party outside playing in the bounce house and on the swing set, both big hits. We are so blessed to have had so many good friends and family there. (some of them drove over and hour just to be there for Brooklyn)

I was so busy I didn't get to take many pictures luckily Nana, Lanie, and aunt Katie picked up my slack.

Birthday fun part 1

On Brooklyn's actual birthday we hosted our first play date and invited a few friends to come over and paint. We all had a lot of fun and , I was terrified doing a painting craft with toddlers in my house, the kids were so clean and neat with the paints!

The set up

At exactly 9:01,we had a mini birthday photo shoot.
This time three years ago I was holding my newborn daughter. I am so blessed.

A few shots of the kids painting

Even the babies got to join in. We got McKenna and Anthonys' foot prints.

All the kids art work!

We had lots of fun and most importantly my baby turned three. She has her birthday party on Sunday and She can't wait, she has been talking about her party everyday for the last three weeks!

Police Station

On Monday Brooklyn got to go visit the police station. She had fun playing around with her friends and climbing in and out of the police car and I learned some things.

Waiting for the tour to start.

Exercaucer play

McKenna LOVES sitting in her exersaucer. We don't even have to prop her up with blankets. She will touch and look at all the toys, her absolute favorites are the mirrors.

The first time trying it out.

She found the mirror!

That's my girl, all smiles.

We had a very busy Easter this year! We spent the morning together , had lunch with my mom, and then we were off to nana's for dinner and easter egg hunting.

The Easter bunny visited the girls at every house. Brooke loved it of course :)

The girls Aunt Karen made them these AMAZING Easter baskets. The girls will be able to use them every year! Kevin still has the one she made for him when he was little and you know me I'm a sucker for traditions, so of course I loved them :)

Kenna slept while Eli and Brooklyn hunted eggs.

Easter Blondie's

One of my favorite traditions that I now get to share with Brooklyn is Easter Baking. This year Brooke and I tried our hand at two different Blondie recipes

On Friday we made egg shaped chocolate chip Blondie's (my favorite of the two!) She is such a good helper and I really enjoy being able to teach her these things.

Saturday night we tried to make cake batter Blondie bars for Easter dinner. They didn't turn out the best but we still had fun making them and getting a little messy in the process.

A week in the Hospital

On 4/1/12 I got a call letting me know Kevin was in the ER!! He had gotten a really bed infection in his leg three days before and was on bed rest, but then he got a staph infection from what we think was a bug bite. This caused him to spike a really high fever and have severe pain in his leg along with the swelling.

The next few days went like many hospital visits would go...Kevin got several rounds of antibiotics and plenty of rest. The girls and I would visit when we could, and I was able to stay with him at night.

On the 3rd we had severe weather that even produces tornadoes near by. so the hospital had to move all the patients and family in to the halls and the hospital was on lock down until the tornadoes passed. Kevin and Brooklyn played games on the phone and ipad while Mckenna cooed and smiled at me (I was FREAKING out on the inside during this all)

We were very lucky to have been  together during all this.

Kevin was released from the hospital on 4/5 and is resting at home until the swelling is gone.
